Trans Youths, State Drop Suit Over Gender-Affirming Care Ban (2)

Transgender advocates, Alabama, and the United States have agreed to drop a lawsuit alleging the state’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors is unconstitutional, the parties told a federal court.

They asked the US District Court for the Middle District of Alabama on Thursday to close the case following three years of litigation that included a trip to the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The US had previously withdrawn from the matter, but joined the stipulation, which didn’t provide any details about why the parties decided to end the case.
