The University of Texas at Austin and a former academic adviser jointly agreed to end litigation over harassment in the workplace.
The parties will bear their own fees and costs, according to a joint dismissal Thursday that provided no other details about the agreement.
Malia LiVolsi, who worked in the Butler School of Music, said the school failed to adequately handle her complaints after John Turci-Escobar, assistant dean for undergraduate studies in the College of Fine Arts, sent her repeated text messages “unrelated to her job” in April 2022.
