White House Clears Revised PFAS Rule Collecting 11 Years of Data

The White House cleared a proposed PFAS rule Friday, opening the door for the EPA to imminently release its strategy to reduce companies’ compliance workload.

The White House completed its review of a proposal to revise a regulation the Environmental Protection Agency published in 2023 at an estimated cost to industry of $876 million.

The rule required chemical manufacturers and importers, including companies that import goods manufactured with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), to provide 11 years worth of information about those chemicals.
