Missile Defense Agency Ditches Multibillion-Dollar IT Recompete

The Missile Defense Agency on Tuesday canceled the release of a solicitation for $4.6 billion worth of information technology operations and engineering work, three years into planning for the next iteration of a contract held by Jacobs Solutions Inc.

“Reassessment of the procurement landscape and acquisition strategy” triggered the agency to nix the MIOES opportunity, according to Tuesday’s notice.

The cancellation follows a “strategic pause” placed on the MIOES opportunity in April in response to President Donald Trump’s March executive order focused on federal procurement spending and consolidation.
