Senate Panel Wants Embattled Test Office To Evaluate Golden Dome

The Republican-controlled Senate panel that authorizes defense spending wants the Pentagon’s embattled test office to oversee an assessment of the Trump adminstration’s ambitious Golden Dome missile shield.

The previously unpublicized directive is tucked into an annual bill that would approve $892 billion in defense spending and that awaits a full Senate vote when lawmakers return from recess next month. The House version that passed the full chamber this month doesn’t contain similar oversight language.
