Acadia Pharmaceuticals Heads to Trial Over Psychosis Drug Study

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. investors have enough evidence to take the drug developer to trial on class claims that it misrepresented the FDA’s clinical trial criteria for expanding a psychosis drug’s uses, a federal court ruled.

A jury should decide whether Acadia and its top executives made false statements when they omitted an alleged Food and Drug Administration requirement that the drug study show consistent results across five subtypes of dementia, Judge William Q. Hayes said Monday for the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
