The Senate’s labor committee approved a slate of Labor Department nominees, including two responsible for overseeing and adjudicating mine safety.
The Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee voted Thursday, teeing up a Senate floor vote. The DOL’s leads for the Employment and Training Administration and the Office of Disability Employment Policy were among those approved.
The panel voted along party lines to advance the nomination of Wayne Palmer, the nominee for assistant secretary for mine safety and health, along with Marco Rajkovich, to serve on the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission.
