EPA Drops Proposed Rule to Limit Meat, Poultry Farm Pollutants

The EPA withdrew on Tuesday a rule proposed by the Biden administration to limit waterborne pollutants from meat and poultry farms, saying the action would avoid adding another inflationary pressure to the costs of food.

The Environmental Protection Agency withdrew Clean Water Act effluent limitations guidelines and standards for the meat and poultry facilities that it had proposed last year as part of a legal consent degree.
