Foley & Lardner, Recruiter Walk Away From Partner Fee Fight (1)

Foley & Lardner LLP and its longtime legal recruiter have ended a dispute over claims the law firm strung the headhunter along with a promise to waive a fee cap if it landed a high-powered lateral partner.

The international law firm and LegalBriefs Inc., a Massachusetts-based legal recruiter, jointly agreed to dismiss the lawsuit in a Tuesday filing with the Suffolk County Superior Court.

LegalBriefs said in the lawsuit it was deceived by assurances Foley made to waive a $500,000 fee cap on the recruitment of the partner, whose multi-million-dollar book of business was one of the largest in Boston. ...
