Infant Botulism Cases Up With Recalled Formula Still on Shelves

The number of babies in the US who have been hospitalized with suspected or confirmed botulism linked to a recall of ByHeart infant formula rose to 31 on Wednesday, US health officials said.

As the outbreak grows, state officials have reported finding cans of recalled ByHeart formula still on store shelves, the Food and Drug Administration said in a statement.

“All ByHeart infant formula products have been recalled, and these products should not be available for sale in stores or online,” the FDA said. “This includes all formula cans and single-serve ‘anywhere pack’ sticks.”
