Planned Utah Potash Mine Draws Lawsuit Over Environmental Review

The Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance on Thursday challenged the Interior Department’s June approval of a western Utah potash mine for failing to conduct an environmental review.

The group’s complaint, filed in US District Court for the District of Utah, is opposing the Bureau of Land Management’s June 10 decision to authorize Peak Minerals Inc. to construct its Sevier Playa Potash Project in a pristine ephemeral lake in remote western Utah.
