RFK Jr.’s HHS, FDA Move to Strengthen US Baby Formula Supply

Under the leadership of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., HHS and the FDA announced “operation stork speed” aimed at enhancing the quality, safety, nutrition and resilience of America’s domestic infant formula supply.

  • The program includes:
    • Nutrient review process including boosted testing for heavy metals
    • Encouraging companies to develop new infant formulas
    • Extending the personal importation policy
    • NIH collaboration to prioritize research on health outcomes of formula feeding
