States Sue Novartis Over Generic Price Fixing With Drugmakers

Dozens of states are suing Novartis alleging it conspired with other drugmakers to artificially drive up generic drug prices across the US.

Filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut, the lawsuit accuses Novartis’ then-generic arm Sandoz of working with other drugmakers in a price-fixing scheme for copycat drugs. Also mentioned in the lawsuit are Teva, Actavis , Amneal, Pfizer and others, all of whom have been dubbed by the states as co-conspirators.
