Trump’s EPA to Prioritize PFAS But Weigh Stakeholder Concerns

The EPA is figuring out how it may address concerns it’s hearing from water utilities and Republican US senators about the PFAS drinking water rule issued last year, agency Administrator Lee Zeldin told state officials Tuesday.

Water utilities need to soon invest substantial sums for the infrastructure they’ll need to comply with the drinking water rule, he said. The challenge is they may not be able to make those investments and meet mandated deadlines, Zeldin said at the Environmental Council of the States’ 2025 spring meeting.
