Williams Files Petition to Revive New York Gas Pipeline Project

Williams Cos. filed a petition to federal energy regulators to revive a proposal for a pipeline that would deliver natural gas to the New York City area.

A Williams subsidiary, Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC, submitted a petition to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Thursday to reinstate its certificate to continue with the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) Project, the company said in an emailed statement.

Williams said it has also been working through state permitting with departments for environmental protection in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
