BGOV Bill Analysis: H.R. 8333, Bar Contracts to Chinese Biotech

Federal agencies couldn’t provide contracts, grants, or loans to biotechnology companies with ties to China and other US foreign adversaries under H.R. 8333.

The measure would block federal funding for five Chinese state-controlled genomics, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies, and others identified as national security threats by federal agencies.

Agencies also couldn’t provide contracts, grants, or loans to any company that uses equipment or services from the banned companies.
