A New York federal appeals court panel wrestled during Monday oral arguments with a former Louis Vuitton employee’s allegation of retaliatory firing after she refused a meeting with her supervisor to discuss settling sexual harassment claims.
Andowah Newton, previously an in-house attorney at the fashion company, is asking the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit to revive her claims of illegal retaliation that a lower court dismissed. She says she faced hostile treatment from her managers leading up to her termination in 2023, after having complained internally and spoken publicly about sexual harassment.
