NFL Settlement of Race-Norming Claims Gets Final Approval

The National Football League’s settlement of claims that retired Black players were harmed by the use of racial norms in assessing qualification for concussion benefits was granted final court approval Friday.

Judge Anita B. Brody of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania greenlighted the agreement that the league, class counsel for former players, and intervening retired Black players reached in October 2021.
