Amazon, Microsoft Use of H-1B Visas Draws Inquiry in Senate

A bipartisan Senate duo is pressing Amazon.com Inc., Microsoft Corp., and other companies on their use of H-1B visas to hire foreign workers with specialized skills.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and top Democrat Dick Durbin (Ill.), on Thursday announced a probe into 10 tech, banking, and consulting companies for filing thousands of petitions for H-1B workers after conducting mass layoffs of American workers.
