The City of San Diego sued the US Department of Homeland Security Monday to block the construction of razor wire fencing by the US-Mexico border that’s slated to conclude in a week.
US Marines building the fence are trespassing on San Diego’s land, putting at risk endangered species’ habitats in riverbanks and seasonal wetland pools, disturbing the city’s agreement with the federal government to preserve the land, according to the lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
