Monster Energy Co., the beverage maker, advanced in its bid to prevent registration of a “Monster Squad Del Mar” fitness services trademark Monday at a tribunal, which also rejected a law school’s efforts to intervene.
Herman Jones, a personal trainer in California, failed to prove Monster never used its “Monster Army” trademark for athletic training, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board said while denying him summary judgment.
