Nvidia Corp.’s top lawyer saw his total compensation fall more than 25% last year, according to the company’s proxy statement.

Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary Timothy Teter was paid $14.3 million in 2025, down from $19.2 million in 2024.

Teter’s salary was $848,656 last year, up about $4,500 from the previous year. His pay package came mostly in the form of stock awards. He owned 2.7 million shares of the company as of March 23, the proxy statement said.

Though Teter’s compensation fell last year, his 2024 payout represented a nearly 75% year-over-year increase as Nvidia cemented itself as a leading producer of the chips needed for artificial intelligence models and catapulted into the world’s most valuable company with a market cap over $5 trillion.

Prior to his legal career, Teter was an engineer for a Lockheed Martin Corp. subsidiary. He spent 20 years as a Cooley LLP partner before joining Nvidia in 2017 as general counsel. He has been an executive vice president at the company since 2018.
