Rhodium Encore LLC creditors who oppose the Bitcoin miner’s bankruptcy wind-down plan took their payment fight to the lawyers involved in the proceedings, saying they will oppose $6 million in fees requested by Barnes & Thornburg LLP.
Creditors led by Transcend Partners Legend Fund LLC on Monday urged the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas to decline Barnes & Thornburg’s August legal bill for $438,000, saying they also intend to seek disgorgement of all the fees the firm has collected as Rhodium’s special counsel in Chapter 11.
