Roku Taps New Legal Leader After Former GC Leaves For Adobe

Streaming company Roku Inc. has tapped Chris Handman as senior vice president and general counsel and charged him with leading government relations.

Handman, formerly general counsel of Rippling People Center Inc., replaces former Roku general counsel A. Louise Pentland, who left for Adobe Inc. in May, San Jose, Calif.-based Roku said in an SEC filing late Wednesday.

The company awarded Handman 95,186 restricted stock units, it said in a separate filing. Pentland, who stayed less than a year at Roku after joining from Walt Disney Co. in July 2024, received nearly $12.4 million from Roku for that year. ...
