UPS Delivery Drivers Lose Pension Credit Suit After Transfer

Former UPS Ground Freight Inc. delivery drivers who say they wrongly lost pension credits when they switched to United Parcel Service Inc. failed to properly raise these concerns internally before going to court, a federal judge ruled.

A union grievance filed by one of the drivers doesn’t qualify as a proper claim for benefits under the terms of his pension plan, Judge Sarah Evans Barker said in a Sept. 20 summary judgment opinion.
