Fidelity Bond Veteran O’Neil Plans to Retire After 36-Year Run

Ford O’Neil, a longtime Fidelity Investments fixed-income manager, plans to step down from his portfolio -management duties next year, capping a 36-year career that helped shape one of the industry’s largest bond franchises.

O’Neil, 63, who joined Fidelity as a summer intern in 1989 and rose to help oversee more than $200 billion in assets, will remain with the firm as a senior adviser beginning in September, the company said in a statement on Friday.
