Food Flavoring Supplier Sued by Insurer Over Wrongful Death Case

An AmTrust Financial Services Inc. insurance unit sued a flavoring manufacturer, seeking to avoid paying legal costs in a wrongful death case brought by a widower who said his spouse died from exposure to chemicals supplied by the company.

Commercial general liability policies issued by Associated Industries Insurance Co. don’t cover injuries that occurred before the policies took effect in December 2018, the insurer said in a complaint against Bell Flavors & Fragrances Inc. filed Friday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
