Phutrakul will leave his post as of the annual general meeting in April 2026, ING said in a statement on Thursday. His appointment for a second term to the executive board had been due to run until 2027.
ING shares rose less than 1% early Thursday and are up about 18% over the past year. The bank said it has started looking for a successor.
