UnitedHealth Promotes Patrick Conway to Lead Optum Division

UnitedHealth Group Inc. promoted the leader of its pharmacy division to oversee its broader Optum business, while the current chief executive officer of Optum will take a new role.

Optum CEO Heather Cianfrocco will become executive vice president at the parent company, overseeing governance, compliance and information security, the company said in a filing Tuesday.

Patrick Conway, who currently leads the Optum Rx pharmacy benefit division, will take over the broader Optum division, including oversight of care delivery, data and consulting businesses.

The changes will take effect May 6.
