Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump on Tuesday during the G-7 summit in Canada.

Albanese said he expects to meet Trump on the sidelines of the conference. The meeting comes after the US placed tariffs on Australian imports and as the Pentagon reviews the Aukus pact, an agreement to develop nuclear-powered submarines with Australia and the UK.

Albanese will discuss US tariffs on Australian imports with Trump, he told reporters during a stopover in Seattle. “We’ll raise the importance of Aukus and have a discussion as two friends should.”
