Australia’s exports jumped in October fueled by liquefied natural gas, yet this China-reliant economy faces an increasingly uncertain outlook as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to unleash tariffs and potentially trade wars in 2025.

Australia’s overseas shipments climbed 3.6% as its monthly trade surplus swelled to A$6 billion ($3.9 billion), easily exceeding a A$4.5 billion estimate, government data showed Thursday. Export values of other mineral fuels, a category that includes LNG, surged 15.4% from a month earlier.
