Chinese Solar Cells Exporter Challenges U.S. Anti-Subsidy Rates

Chinese producers and exporters are challenging U.S. anti-subsidy rates on certain imports of Chinese solar power cells.

The U.S. maintains countervailing duties on crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells, whether or not assembled into modules, from China. The Commerce Department recently concluded a periodic review of these duties, covering imports that entered the U.S. in 2016.

Canadian Solar Inc. and its affiliates were hit with a 9.7% duty rate. Jinko Solar Import and Export Co. and its affiliates were hit with a 12.76% rate. All other Chinese producers and exporters were hit with an 11.81% rate.
