Chinese Tire Makers Win Bid for Antidumping Duty Exemption Redo

The U.S. Commerce Department made a host of errors when it refused to exempt several Chinese tire makers from antidumping duties or reduce their rates, a federal trade judge ruled, sending the matter back to the agency.

The lawsuit involved multiple challenges to decisions applying China-wide duty rates, despite bids by each company for an exception. It was filed in the U.S. Court of International Trade by Shandong Yongtai Group Co. Ltd., Qingdao Sentury Tire Co., Pirelli Tyre Co., and several affiliates.
