Crop Price Support Boost Sought by GOP in Farm Bill Proposal (1)

Farmers would receive additional price support for their crops under a framework for the $1.5 trillion farm bill Senate Republicans released Tuesday.

“Hopefully we can take all of this together and build on that so we can actually get a farm bill passed,” Senate Agriculture Committee ranking member John Boozman (R-Ark.) said.

Although committee Republicans drafted full bill text, they won’t be releasing it, Boozman told reporters at a closed-door briefing Tuesday morning.
