EU Goes to China and Japan Expecting Mixed Results: Supply Lines

European leaders will visit their Japanese and Chinese counterparts this week, and the expected outcomes reflect forces ranging from war to tariffs that are redrawing global trade relationships.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on Wednesday in Tokyo, then Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang on Thursday in Beijing.
