Bostic Says Fed Will ‘Rise to the Moment’ Amid Political Attacks

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic said he believes the US central bank still has the trust of financial markets and the public despite a barrage of political attacks, but said it will be on policymakers to maintain that respect.

Bostic, who is retiring from the Fed at the end of the month, said policymakers have long faced outside criticism and expressed optimism that they would continue to hold back political pressure and act with the public and the central bank’s dual mandate in mind.
