Former Premier Conte Warns Italians Against ‘MAGA Formula’ (1)

Former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte called on Italy to increase its engagement with other nations including China after US President Donald Trump has repeatedly targeted Europe with tariffs and threatened to undermine transatlantic security.

“Donald Trump and the US protect their own economic and commercial interests wherever they move,” Conte said in an interview with Bloomberg in Rome on Wednesday. “I cannot shed my blood for my ally to make America great again.”
