House Bill to Seek Coffee Import Exemption From Trump’s Tariffs

House lawmakers plan to introduce a bipartisan bill Friday to exempt coffee imports from Donald Trump’s tariffs, a long-shot effort to shield a key commodity grown almost entirely outside the US from the president’s trade war.

Representatives Don Bacon, a Nebraska Republican, and Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, are advancing the measure, which would reverse coffee tariffs to the level they were the day before Trump took office, according to a copy of the legislation seen by Bloomberg News.
