Immigrants Sue Over Deportation to Third Country Without Hearing

The Department of Homeland Security acts unlawfully when it deports immigrants to a country other than their country of origin without giving them an opportunity to make a fear-based objection, a proposed class action filed in federal court says.

The case comes as President Donald Trump asserts his authority over immigration. Recently his administration deported plane-loads of Venezuelans in what a judge called a failure to obey an order and ordered refugee resettlement programs to be defunded.
