Janaf Asks US Approval to Fulfill NIS Contract Despite Sanctions

Croatian oil pipeline operator Janaf d.d. has asked the US international sanctions body to allow it to fulfill its contract with Naftna Industrija Srbije d.d., or NIS, a subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom which is under international sanctions.

“We have officially asked US authorities to be allowed to transport crude to NIS until the end of 2026,” Vladislav Veselica, Janaf’s management board members, said in a phone interview in Zagreb.
