Japan, Philippines Plan More Security Deals Amid China Tensions

The Philippines and Japan plan to expand their security partnership, their leaders said, as both countries grapple with maritime disputes with China.

The two nations agreed to start negotiations on an Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement during their bilateral meeting in Manila, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said in a joint briefing with visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on Tuesday.
