Japan’s Topix Scores Longest Run Since 2009 on US-China Deal

Japanese stocks extended their climb, with the Topix posting its longest winning streak in 16 years, after the US and China agreed to de-escalate tariffs, boosting risk-on sentiment.

The benchmark gauge rose 1.1% to 2,772.14, closing out a 13th straight day of gains, the most since August 2009. The blue-chip Nikkei 225 Stock Average climbed 1.4% to 38,183.26, marking its fourth consecutive daily rise.
