Manufacturer Nexteel Co. is challenging U.S. duty rates on certain imports of steel pipe from South Korea at the U.S. Court of International Trade, arguing the Commerce Department wrongly determined that Korean steel prices were distorted.
The U.S. maintains antidumping duties on South Korean circular welded non-alloy steel pipe, which is used in plumbing and heating systems, air conditioning units, and automatic sprinkler systems. Commerce recently completed a periodic review of these duties, covering imports that entered the U.S. between November 2017 and October 2018.
