Mexico Sees Exports to US Slip Down Value Chain: Supply Lines

President Claudia Sheinbaum and others in the Mexican government have made the country’s record-breaking exports a cause for celebration. After all, they’ve become one of the few highlights in an otherwise sluggish economy.

Looking closely, though, some observers see a growing problem: The profile of Mexico’s exports is shifting from high value-added manufactured goods to simple assembly of products whose inputs come mainly from Asia. (Click here for the full story.)
