Mobile Access Equipment Trade Group Drops China Duties Lawsuit

A U.S. industry group dropped its bid for higher duties on imports from China of mobile access equipment, according to filings in a federal trade court.

The U.S. recently imposed countervailing duties on Chinese mobile access equipment, primarily boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers, and subassemblies thereof. The devices are used to lift people, tools, and material, typically in the construction sector. The U.S. imported over $195 million worth of mobile access equipment from China in 2020, before the duties were in place, according to the Commerce Department.
