David Perdue, the new US Ambassador to China, arrived in Beijing to take up his post as the world’s two largest economies navigate a delicate trade truce.

Perdue, a former Republican Senator for Georgia, landed in the Chinese capital on Thursday, according to a post on his official X account. Appointed in December to replace career diplomat Nicholas Burns, Perdue is expected to use his close relationship with President Donald Trump to reopen key communication channels at a critical time for US-China ties.
