Norway Says U.K. Free Trade Deal Keeps Seafood Toll Preferences

Agreement entails a continuation of all previous tariff preferences for seafood and improved market access for whitefish, shrimp and several other products, Norway’s Trade, Industry and Fisheries says in a statement.

  • Deal doesn’t include any new import quotas for cheese, beef or lamb
    • Four British cheeses with recognized origin labeling will be covered by set krone-tolls rather than percent charges
  • New import quotas include pork and sausages
  • Agreement contains a provision on cyber security that helps cooperation with the U.K. on cyber threats and also simplifies co-operation on future regulatory development for digital commerce and new technologies
