Poland and Hungary Plan to Extend Import Ban on Ukrainian Grain

Poland and Hungary plan to extend bans on Ukrainian grain imports despite mounting criticism that their unilateral restrictions are hurting the war-torn country.

The bans had been scheduled to expire at the end of June, but that will now be “absolutely impossible,” Polish Development Minister Waldemar Buda said on Wednesday.

Hungary wants to keep restrictions in place until the end of the year and widen them to other food products, Agriculture Minister Istvan Nagy said, according to the MTI state news agency.
