Spain’s Cuerpo Says Bessent Signaled He Wants EU Deal on Tariffs

Spanish Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that he wants a US-European Union deal on tariffs.

“Secretary Bessent has conveyed a clear message: the US wants to reach an agreement with its main trade partners — that confirms the door to dialogue opened last week with the 90 days pause,” Cuerpo said on Tuesday in Washington, after what he described as “useful and constructive” talks.
