Trump Administration Moves to Kill Challenge to Steel Duties

A constitutional challenge to President Donald Trump’s “national security” tariffs on steel from Turkey should be thrown out, the Justice Department told a federal court April 3.

Whether imposing such tariffs would protect the nation’s security is a question that’s totally within the president’s discretion and his decision isn’t subject to review by the courts, the administration told the U.S. Court of International Trade.
